Landing Page Conversion - Lesson 3

In the next few lessons we are going to discuss various methods to market your e-business website. You will find that a lot of these marketing techniques are interrelated and can overlap. The first topic we are going to discuss is landing pages.

A landing page is a web page that is used to lead people to your target website. Doorway pages have links to your homepage. The target page is where you hope the user will take some action such as purchasing your product or subscribing to your newsletter. Your landing page should get the user's attention and lead them to the target page. The two major benefits of landing pages are that they allow you to target demographics and they can be used to optimize search engine placement.

Your website's landing page should contain information about the target page, almost like a sales letter. The aim of this page is to be attractive enough to capture the user's attention. The trick here is to create several different landing pages that each appeal to different types of people, thus targeting different demographics. Your landing pages will be attractive to the targeted demographic when they provide useful information or entertainment, while remaining easy to navigate.

Once you have created your landing pages, you need to register them with search engines. Firstly you must ensure that your pages contain Meta tags, keywords, descriptions, keyword balancing, content indications, and incoming and outgoing links. You then need to find out the right submission procedure and schedule your submissions appropriately with the search engines you've chosen.
